MEET THE TRAINER: Hannah Pemberton CCC2

Hannah Pemberton.jpg

My training journey started with my Boxer mix, Linus. When we moved into the Atlanta area from a small town he struggled to function in a busy environment. He started scent work sessions and I immediately fell in love with both the sport and the idea of training. For the last 7 years I have built experience and knowledge in teaching private lessons, board and train, group classes, and working one on one with dogs.

I have taught a variety of classes and enjoy teaching everything from puppy and basic manners to advanced rally obedience and scent work.

I have really expanded my education in Scent work and enjoy learning about handling, odor movement, and how dogs work. I trial and volunteer regularly at NACSW events and enjoy teaching multiple teams in classes and private lessons.

I have three Pharaoh Hounds- Maple, Scylla, and Party, and the dog who started it all, Linus. The Pharaohs have taught me patience and opened the world of dog sports including conformation, lure coursing, agility, and rally obedience. I am an owner handler and have shown my first Pharaoh, Maple, to her GCH and #4 in the OH ranks before she retired.

I am an AKC Star Puppy, Canine Good Citizen, and Trick Title Evaluator. In 2022, I began the certification process for all three levels of Suzanne Clothier's Cooperation, Connection, and Control. This involves a wide depth of reading dog behavior, strengthening observation skills, and understanding learning theory. I also raised my own litter via Suzanne Clothier's Enriched Puppy Protocol and built my understanding of both puppy development and socialization. This in depth course filled a huge knowledge gap I didn't realize I had from birth to when puppies go to their new homes, giving me even more knowledge I can bring to my clients.
