Dog's Day Out

Are you struggling to meet your high energy dog’s exercise and enrichment needs? Do you have a busy work schedule that is slowing down your training progress with your dog? Does your puppy or adolescent dog need more enriching and positive experiences out and about in the world? We have the solution!

Once a week one of our trainers takes one dog at a time on a customized outing for exercise and training. Your dog will be picked up from your home, and will be taken to a local park or public space for plenty of exercise, enrichment, and training practice all in one! Outings will last a total of 1.5 hours, and your dog will be returned to you feeling both mentally and physically fulfilled. These outings are geared towards holistically meeting your dog’s needs to promote improvements in overall behavior beyond just a training session.

Your dog will first get to go out for a decompression walk on a long line to allow for more freedom of movement and to promote more exploration than the average neighborhood walk. Then your trainer will provide a few specialized enrichment activities for your dog to participate in, including but

not limited to nosework activities, stuffed enrichment feeders or food puzzles, outlets to chew, chase, play, or express other species-specific behaviors, and various confidence-building activities. The session will then finish off with some practice of relevant training skills with your dog (specific skills will depend on your current training progress and goals. After your dog returns home satisfied and ready for a nap, you will be sent video/photos and a recap detailing your dog’s experience on their outing so you can keep track of all the fun!

Please note:

  • Dogs struggling with reactivity or fear issues can still be eligible for this service, but will be considered on a case-by-case basis as the trainer determines if these style of outings will be truly beneficial to their mental wellbeing and safety. Adjustments may be needed to ensure the outings are beneficial to your dog’s specific decompression needs.

  • “Dog’s Day Out'' is most helpful as a supplemental service to private training or group classes with one of our certified trainers here at Pawsitive Futures. To ensure any training done on these outings is truly effective in your daily routine with your dog, it’s important to continue to work on these skills in-home outside of these once-a-week outings.

  • Due to the nature of this service offering a pick up and drop off, services are limited to a specified range in the Atlanta, GA area. If you are not sure that your home falls in our service area, please inquire!
